The 2017 South Sound Food Summit – a Celebration of Local Food Culture – is a 2 part event at South Puget Sound Community College Mottman Campus on Friday 10/20 and Saturday 10/21.  

Local Flavors Tasting Salon – Friday October 20th, 6-9PM

Cost: $40 

  • Featuring bites from local farmers, ranchers, restaurants & other food artisans
  • Craft beer, cider, wine, spirits & delicious non-alcoholic beverages
  • Live music by the Oly Mountain Boys
  • Short program on inspiring the local food movement



South Sound Food Summit – Saturday October 21st, 9AM-5:30PM

Cost: $50  

The Saturday Food Summit is an all day event that will engage attendees in a “choose your own adventure” day, with activities ranging from cooking demonstrations to farmer panels to seed mandalas and so much more.

We are delighted to share tasty meals, locally sourced & prepared by SPSCC’s culinary arts department. The Food Summit will have something for everyone and we are eager to bring together farmers, ranchers, youth, families, elders, restaurateurs, community organizations and those they serve to share in a rich day of experiences and connection.  If you are part of the South Sound community and you eat food, this summit is for you!

The three key themes of the summit are the environmental, economic & social impacts of local food. We are striving to design a summit that is fun, engaging, informative & honoring of the many diverse and powerful experiences that people in our community have with food, from growing it to selling it to preparing it to eating it.



Host a Tasting Booth on Friday 10/20/17
We are looking for local restaurants, food processors, caterers, brewers, distilleries, and other businesses that source local foods (or want to begin sourcing locally!) to join us for a tasting salon Friday evening. We anticipate 300 attendees and invite our vendors to source small bites & sips to share with our community & help spread the word about your business.
